With Overwatch 2, Blizzard is implementing a whole Defense Matrix to protect the integrity of gameplay and promote positive behavior. In addition to pre-downloading the game, you’ll have to go through the steps of activating SMS Protection. New players on console and PC can begin downloading the game at 12:00 p.m. Unfortunately, new players won’t be able to pre-download Overwatch 2 ahead of launch. On consoles, the game is about a 30GB download. Pre-download Overwatch 2 for existing Overwatch players on consoleįor those who played Overwatch on console, you can begin pre-downloading Overwatch 2 at approximately 9:00 a.m. It’s about a 50GB download and should happen automatically as long as yo uhave automatic updates enabled on. Pre-download Overwatch 2 for existing players or Watchpoint Pack owners on PCįor those who have played the original Overwatch on PC or have purchased the Watchpoint Pack on PC, you can pre-download Overwatch 2 starting at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Blizzard outlined today all the steps you can take beforehand to make sure you’re ready to jump into the action the second the game is live, including the all-new SMS Protection and, of course, pre-downloading the game.
Overwatch 2 is set to launch in exactly one week with servers expected to be live worldwide at 12:00 p.m.
